Each year our Picatinny Federal Credit Union team dedicates volunteer time to countless community organizations important to our members. We are proud to donate more than $22,000 to local charitable organizations and causes each year, demonstrating our unwavering support for the community. For 85+ years, Picatinny FCU has put the community first and has always found a way to give back to charities and local organizations that our members feel most connected to. A well-known credit union philosophy is “people helping people” and a Picatinny FCU, we like to say “neighbors helping neighbors” because we believe in supporting our neighbors and community every way we can! Through events, donations, and volunteer activities, our PFCU team spends a lot of time with our neighbors in the community throughout the year.

Local events are important because they connect our community by bringing everyone together. These events align with our credit union purpose by providing opportunities to participate in local initiatives and support causes that we may not be aware of. They give us, as a credit union, the chance to give back to organizations that really need the support.

Types of Events We Support
Our community calendar is jam-packed every year. We always participate in a variety of local events within our community throughout the entire calendar year. Whether it’s local college events, street festivals, or career fairs, Picatinny FCU is always a prominent presence in the community!
We have been the Top Dog Sponsor for Eleventh Hour Rescue’s Annual Puptoberfest for many years. Picatinny FCU has supported Eleventh Hour Rescue through donations, sponsorships, and volunteer time. Our employees feel a strong connection to their organization and their mission of saving the lives of innocent dogs and cats on death row. We look forward to participating at Puptoberfest each year!
Another community partner that we are proud to support is Warrior Strong Inc. who helps veterans, veteran family members, and first responders find community and camaraderie through free health and wellness programs. Their mission is to overcome the sense of detachment, disconnection, and isolation often experienced in civilian life. They offer a variety of free programs, including wellness classes, retreats, training certifications, aquatic therapy and adaptive fitness classes. Picatinny FCU supports them through donations, sponsorships, and spreading their mission, but we particularly enjoy attending Warrior Strong’s Golf Classic where we set up a table on the green at Picatinny Arsenal’s Golf Club and hand out Picatinny FCU branded products like golf balls and golf towels to the veteran community.
Picatinny FCU volunteers at Interfaith Food Pantry on an annual basis. A group of employees spend the morning at IFPN’s Free Farmer’s Market sorting, bagging, and distributing fresh fruits and vegetables to our Morris County neighbors. This gives us the opportunity to directly engage with our community.
The Lake Hopatcong Block Party is an event that our team looks forward to each year. This block party supports the Lake Hopatcong Foundation, who dedicates itself to protecting the lake environment and enhancing the lake experience, bringing together public and private resources to encourage a culture of sustainability and stewardship on and around New Jersey’s largest lake, for this and future generations. It is a busy and exciting day of mingling with our neighbors in a fun setting. We hand out cool giveaways to those who attend the event.

Thanks to our member-driven Board of Directors, we’re able to stay connected to our community at a grassroots level. We take a great deal of pride in giving back to our members and the communities we serve through volunteer programs, grants, and academic scholarships.
